I have learned something new, yet again!
I just completed the JCOS school google site. The district mandated all JeffCo schools to convert to Google sites, probably because it is a lot cheaper and provides a lot of tools for teachers and students alike . Having really no clue on how to create a Google site I jumped right in and taught myself. Well, I'll be darn if it isn't the handiest tool in my toolbox now. All a person needs is a gmail address and let the fun begin. So as of now, I am open for Google website business.

Makenna's Senior Photos

Makenna was one of those rare people that can look straight into the camera and hold it, not blink, and look beautiful. There was not one photo out of the hundreds I took where she was making an awkward face nor blinking, a record for me!
Makenna was a delight! We had our session at the Blue Silo studios, near the stock show complex. We choose a variety of cold and quirky places to photograph: the bathroom, the middle of the street, the train tracks (despite getting kicked off) and huge dirty drafting table... Ahh but the light was right and the results were worth every funky posture we found ourselves in to get the shot!

I was photographing for Denver Integrative Massage School to catch their costumes, free massages and basic happenings. It was Raelyn's annual birthday photo shoot. When we decided to photograph at Denver Botanic Gardens it only made sense to make it a "Secret Garden " theme. Putting my newly acquired membership to use (thank you Renee) we spent the morning frolicking through trees, smelling flowers and discovering new paths.

Jen & Rex's Love Story

I was invited to photograph Jen and Rex's Telluride Wedding. Their theme "Waste Less Love More" and that is exactly what they did. Jen's dress and shoes were from the thrift store. The beautiful wildflower centerpieces were picked from the ground and arranged by Rex's sister. The delicious wedding cake, dairy and sugar free, made by a friend. The setting was the ever photogenic Telluride Town Park.
These two radiated love as you will see.

I just completed a lighting class with the fabulous Grant Leighton at Working with Artists.
These photos are from one of our classes in which we were photographing two very different models, Tara and Magda (coming soon). Tara has exquisite features... cheekbones, lips, eyes... as well as an acting background so she can conjure up any emotion in split second! Needless to say she was a pleasure to photograph.

Love, my best friend of nearly 15 years, requested a photo shoot that celebrated her 40th year while embodying the wild feminine and showing of her fabulous and colorful, but temporary, yarn dreads. We photographed at her house in 4 Mile Canyon outside of Boulder...the reminiscence of the forest fires of last summer still obvious in its annihilation of houses and land.
Here she is...beautiful, wild and femine.

Heather's Baby Shower-a sneak peek

My friend Hillary invited me to photograph a baby shower she was hosting for her friend Heather! I knew no one at this event, except Hillary, which is always fun to be the lurking photographer that people are either running from or smiling for! These ladies were great sports and I photographed the event.
It was Estrogen abound and Babies on board!

It was another one of those lazy Sunday afternoons when the urge for a spontaneous fashion show erupted from Maliha. The clothes were set makeup and her favorite red lipstick had been applied. First outfit was one of mine when I was her age... the quilted vest assemble. She gave it new life and way more attitude than I ever did. Second was Hawaiian girl outfit...this was cut short when she saw our neighbors playing frisbee which was WAY more interesting than modeling for Mom. And so it was...

I met Kitty a couple of years ago when she called and asked if I would shoot a 3 day event that she was hosting at CU Boulder. The event was celebrating 40Years of Ion Chemistry, as well as her husband Carl, a well known ion chemist. Ion Chemists from far and wide converged onto Boulder for the event.
That was then this is now and Kitty is pursuing a new career and needed some head shots. I was more than happy to oblige. The shoot was at her beautiful home in Boulder in her equally beautiful backyard.

JCOS is my daughter's preschool. For the holidays I take pictures of the kids in her class, make a card art project out of it, then give them to their parents for gifts. I took these photos over the holidays and I have not really had a chance to put them up until now, having opened this file to their wonderful faces brightened my day. Hope it brightens yours!

These folks are some dear friends of mine. Nonetheless, I was still honored that I was asked to take the annual family portraits. Each year Renee does a wonderful at coordinating the family colors for a spectacular looking holiday card. (This plum color is probably my favorite of the past years)

Introducing Papa Tommy, Mama Beaner, Cormac and Landon. They are friends of ours and more specifically my daughter Maliha. (Landon was her first boyfriend). We had been talking about a family session for a while so it was all too perfect that the final date for the shoot was Beaner and Tommy's anniversary. Even more perfect was that we shot at the same outcropping of rocks in Coal Creek Canyon that Beaner and Tommy had been photographed in their beginning.

Abhishek wanted an urban flair for his senior portraits so we opted for a downtown photo shoot. It was wonderful photo shoot with some of my favorite pictures being between two, seemingly stagnate, trains. At the time, we were both game for a small adventure and decided to slide underneath a train for some unique photos. I took the pictures and we climbed out. Approximately one minute later, without warning, the trains started to move and roll on down the tracks. Needless to say...nice timing!

Cian Keller Ahern

My nephew Cian (Key-In) was born this past Monday in the comfort of home. My sister had a fairly enviable birth...easy labor until it's not...a wonderful midwife...and a when the time to push arrived it only lasted 15 minutes and Voila! a beautiful baby boy.

It has only been 4 years since I had one on my own this small but the miracle of life never ceases to astound me. To start as a cell and 9 months later to come out a complete and perfect human being. The perfect synthesis of nature and energy.

So here is Cian about 30 hours old...

On this expedition Maliha and I found ourselves at Lookout Mountain and the beautiful Boettcher Mansion.
